	With a wide expanse of sloped lawn for a backyard, what’s a homeowner to do? We transformed this hillside into a garden worth touring.
	Expanses of lawn were broken up into beds and filled with a riot of plantings. Stepping stones connect the created outdoor “rooms”.
	This waterfall and pond is just off the main terrace behind the house, home to Koi fish.
	View up the created rock outcropping and steps, past the fountain, to the lawns still gracing the hillside. The terraces created with the stonework also divert water away from the house.
	This grand, peaked pergola commands the hillside, built over an upper terrace.
